Snorkelling in Beautiful Cornwall: Explore the Falmouth Coast with Cornwall Adventures

You wait all day for a bus, and then two rock up at once — except these ones have flippers slung over their shoulders, salt in their hair, and a habit of chatting about sharks over their morning coffee. 🦈️☕️

That’s right. We thought we’d already hit the jackpot with Shannon, Cornwall’s top snorkelling guide. But now we’ve gone and doubled down—because Keira has joined the Cornwall Adventures crew! A marine conservationist, experienced diver, and passionate ocean educator, Keira brings even more depth (pun fully intended) to our team. Together, Shannon and Keira are here to help you discover the incredible underwater world just off Cornwall’s shores.

WHY SNORKEL ON THE FALMOUTH COAST?

The Falmouth coast is a snorkelling haven. Thanks to its sheltered bays, warm summer waters, and rich biodiversity, it’s one of the best places to snorkel in Cornwall. Here’s what makes it so special:

  • Kelp Forests – Like the rainforests of the sea, these swaying underwater jungles are full of life.

  • Marine Life – Spot fish, crabs, jellyfish, starfish, anemones, and maybe even a passing seal.

  • Underwater Rock Formations – Caves, crevices, and ledges offer the perfect habitat for sea creatures.

  • Clean, Clear Water – Thanks to the tidal flow and protected bays, visibility is often excellent.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON A SNORKELLING TRIP

Our snorkelling adventures are designed to be fun, safe, and deeply memorable. Here’s what a typical session looks like:

  • Meet & Briefing – We meet at a local beach near Falmouth, where you’ll be welcomed by your guide and given a safety briefing.

  • Kit Up – We can provide all equipment needed for a small hire fee: mask, snorkel & fins. You just bring your wetsuit, towel, and sense of curiosity. (We can provide wetsuits too, just let us know and we will organise).

  • Into the Water – We enter the sea from the shore and explore nearby rocky outcrops, kelp forests, and sandy beds.

  • Guided Exploration – Your guide will point out wildlife, explain what you’re seeing, and keep a close eye to ensure everyone is comfortable and safe.

  • Surface Smiles – Most people come out of the water grinning ear to ear. It’s that good.

SNORKELLING FOR EVERYONE

Snorkelling is one of the most accessible ways to enjoy the sea. You don’t need to be a freediver or even particularly sporty—if you can swim, float and kick gently, you can snorkel. Our sessions are family-friendly and perfect for kids (aged 10+), solo adventurers, couples, and groups.

If you have any specific needs or questions, just drop us a message—we’re always happy to help you plan a session that works for you.

WHEN CAN I BOOK A SNORKELLING TRIP?

Our guided snorkelling trips in Falmouth kick off in May and run throughout the summer and into early autumn. The warmer the water, the more marine life we see, so peak snorkelling season is usually June to September.

We keep group sizes small to ensure personal attention, so booking early is recommended.
